I’m observing something interesting with the latest (1.5) version of the reactors. When I turn any LED on (not the laser), it comes with a sustained, high pitched beeping sound that stays on for as long as the LED is on. I have some 1.4 and 1.3 reactors and they don’t exhibit this. It happens with all of the 1.5 reactors I have.

Any idea why this may be so? Just want to make sure there isn’t anything wrong with the electronics before I begin to use the LEDs regularly during experiments.

    Hello,

It is most likely one of the capacitors on the 6V power regulator oscillating at high frequency since there is a switching power regulator in there that runs at high frequency. It SHOULD be OK, we have had some that have done this for years without issue, though if it annoys you you could it by adding more solder to the capacitor to provide more of a mechanical fixing so it can’t vibrate at all.
