Software
Before using Chi.Bio its operating system must be installed on the control computer. This process requires a micro-SD card (capacity between 4-16GB), and requires approximately 30 minutes of user-input. A software setup guide, which assumes the user has minimal knowledge of computers/Linux, is provided below:
Software Setup Guide V2.3 (pdf)
[Old Version: Software Setup Guide V1.3 (pdf)]
The above guide only covers the steps required to initially set up the control computer before use. For a guide to using the platform’s user-interface to run an experiment see the user guide on the Operation page. If you have purchased a pre-built Chi.Bio device, we recommend you install the latest Chi.Bio operating system; this can be down by following the steps in Section 2 of the software setup guide above.
Open-Source Operating System
We want to share the many ideas and innovations made by members of Chi.Bio user community. To enable this we have set up a Github for the platform’s operating system, where new functions and features can be contributed. The Github project readme includes a beginner’s guide to implementing new features/programs in the Chi.Bio software.
