    Hello Jess,
Not directly in the current system. A group I collaborate with in the past has done it by having a CO2 tank upstream and bubbling gas into the headspace, and then potentially linking the device with a CO2 sensor (there are cheap ones available off-the-shelf) to measure outflow. Alternatively it is no issue to put the whole thing in an atmospheric control cabinet.

    Hi Harrison,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience regarding CO₂ measurement with Chi.Bio!

You mentioned that a group you collaborated with had used an external CO₂ sensor to measure outflow gas. We’re currently trying to replicate a similar setup and were wondering:

    * What brand and model of CO₂ sensor did you use?
    * Was it connected directly to the Chi.Bio system, or to a separate data logger/microcontroller?
    * Any tips on sensor calibration or integration would also be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again for your insights — they’re very helpful to those of us just getting started!

    Best regards,
    Ziqi

For external CO2 sensors I believe simple devices lik this were used: https://thepihut.com/products/gravity-uart-infrared-co2-sensor-0-50000ppm?
It was connected to an external arduino/microcontroller to record data alongside the experiment.
To calibrate you could buy a cheap desktop CO2 moniutor and calibrate it against the room air 🙂
